Most signs fail near the sea

If you have to fit signs anywhere near the sea, you need the right product.

Marine environments destroy signs, but that doesn’t just mean right on the seafront. Visit the Channel Islands, the Isle of Wight, or Shetland, and you soon realise that everything suffers from the sea air. Many towns and cities where the sea is less obvious are built on coastal estuaries, and this can give signs a hard time.

There is a common misbelief that lacquers, or some mythical ‘protective coating ’, will solve the problem, but often, these products are more likely to be destroyed by the sea air than the things they are supposed to protect, and before long they look horrible.

We have more than 50 years of experience in manufacturing signs, nameplates, and labels for use on oil rigs, the decks of ships, and in coastal locations. Our information page for marine signs explains what the problems are, and this will help you to avoid expensive mistakes.
